Intensive Poultry Unit details

An application has been submitted to Tewkesbury Borough Council for various matters on which conditions were applied on the planning consent for the planned Intensive Poultry Unit to the north of Maisemore.  These include a surface water management plan and details of lighting.

The relevant documents are on the TBC website under application reference 19/00104/CONDIS (https://www.tewkesbury.gov.uk/planning#current-and-historic-planning-applications)

Improved access to documents

From time to time there are posts on this site with links to Parish Council and other documents, but these links have not been easy to find once the post is no longer current.

To overcome this, a separate Documents page has been added and can be found in the bar menu above. It lists many documents that are either held as part of the Parish Council's website or can be accessed by a link.  All the links on the Documents page will open in a new browser window.

The Parish Council has a commitment to make what it does as transparent as possible, so improved access to relevant documents helps meet that commitment.

The Maisemore Chicken Sheds - the Committee's determination

The minutes of the TBC Planning Committee in mid-June 2019 at which the chicken sheds application was approved are now available - check out https://minutes.tewkesbury.gov.uk/documents/g2672/Printed%20minutes%20Tuesday%2018-Jun-2019%2010.00%20Planning.pdf?T=1

They don't record the voting figures - we understand these were 13-2 for.

For those who haven't yet seen the Officer's report presented to the committee you can find it at https://minutes.tewkesbury.gov.uk/documents/b6984/Planning%20Schedule%20Tuesday%2018-Jun-2019%2010.00%20Planning.pdf?T=9

Andy Bubb Memorial Meeting 2019

The annual All British Andy Bubb Memorial Meeting organised by the Severn Valley Schoolboy Scramble Club will take place just outside the village this weekend (Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th August).

This event is a great opportunity for youngsters from the age of 6 to show their skills on the scramble circuit in the field at the end of Blacksmiths Lane in a fully supervised event.

Residents are very welcome to come along and watch the races, for which there is no admission charge.

There will be refreshments, bar and children's entertainments as well as the racing.

Pedestrian access is down Blacksmiths Lane, but no vehicles should use this access which is a private road and bridleway - vehicle access is through the next entrance on the left going out of the village towards Hartpury.

It will, of course, be quite noisy, but it is in full compliance with all the regulations.

Cold caller alert

Over the weekend Police have received calls in relation to persons going around in a white van asking residents if they wanted their hedges and trees cut and asking for large amounts of money to do this. A small white van was reported with males aged approximately 20 to 30 years with Irish accents going door to door in the area of Maisemore.

Residents should be aware of this and to report via 101 if they see any suspicious activity taking place. They should also turn the people away.

Tewkesbury neighbourhood Police will be in the location this morning patrolling.
