Local successes in Scramble Championship
Local rider Ollie Bubb (just turned 10 and pictured here receiving the trophy) won 5 out of 5 races in the 65cc group of 40 riders at the recent Andy Bubb Memorial Scramble Event in Maisemore to take the overall win.
Zachary Bubb (7) also did well and, despite a few crashes, finished 8th overall in the 50cc automatic group.
The championship was first held in Maisemore back in the 70's.
This year there were around 120 young riders participating in this well-organised event, with youngsters from the age of 6 showing off their skills on two wheels.

Martin Surl has published the Annual Report which you can read in the attached document, or online here: https://www.gloucestershire-pcc.gov.uk/download/4846/. A summary of the twelve months from April 2018-March 2019, it highlights the challenge of dealing with a growing range and complexity of crimes, complicated by additional social issues around mental health and lack of youth provision. It reflects on key announcements regarding collaboration with bordering forces and Gloucestershire’s Fire and Rescue Service and includes a harrowing account from an Road Traffic Collision survivor who now uses the experience to warn new and novice drivers as part of the ‘What If?’ road safety programme. Budget details, award winning services and the continuing success of the Commissioner’s Fund are all covered in the 16-page document which is also available in hard copy. If you would like a hard copy of the Annual Report, please contact us on pcc@gloucestershire-pcc.gov.uk or 01452 754348.
