We advised about this some weeks ago but the official notice has now been received:
TEMPORARY CLOSURE U40344 OLD ROAD
(MAISEMORE PARISH) TEWKESBURY BOROUGH
Gloucestershire County Council has made an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of U40344 Old Road from its junction with Maisemore Park [sic - see below] to its junction with Hiams Lane for a distance of approximately 120 metres. [sic - this is clearly WRONG!]
The reason for the closure is to allow for installation of a new soil pipe.
The road is expected to be closed from 08:00 on 7th December 2020 until 17:00 on 11th December 2020 only or until the works have been completed. For further information, please contact Gloucestershire Highways on 08000 514 514 or visit www.gloucestershire.gov.uk.
Alternative Route - as signed on site.
Pedestrian access to premises on or next to the road and emergency access will be maintained.
DATED: 26th November 2020
For clarity, the County Council calls the road past The Old School and The Old Vicarage as "Maisemore Park" - this is news to "the locals":
For clarity the closure is at the Apiaries.
All houses from Springhill southwards will only be able to access their properties from Maisemore.
All properties north of the Apiaries will only be able to access their properties from Hartpury/ Hiam's Lane
We presume that cyclists will be classified as pedestrians and be able to transit the closed section.
