Thefts of lead from church roofs

Church Lead Thefts

Wiltshire Police are currently being targeted with lead thefts from church roofs values in excess of £50,000 with 6 tonnes being removed in one night from one church. It appears from the sites that a van of no bigger than a transit size had been used. Please keep your eyes open for suspicious vehicles or persons in or around churches. Any information please pass on to the Police, on line, 101 or 999 if an emergency or a crime is in progress.

Don't give anyone your bank or credit card

Courier Fraud Alert - Bank Cards

Please be aware we have had a number of incidents reported in Cheltenham, Stroud and the Forest of Dean where elderly people have been targeted in Courier Fraud scams. The victims received a call from someone falsely claiming to work for their bank who has told them their bank cards needed to be replaced with new cards. Following this call, someone has arrived at the victims’ addresses to collect their card. In some incidents, the offender has given the victim a gift card, claiming this is a gift from their bank for being a valued customer. During this conversation, the offender has been able to trick victims into disclosing their PIN number. Shortly afterwards, the victims cards’ have been used to withdraw cash or make purchases. Neither your bank, nor the Police, will ever ask you to hand over your bank cards, withdraw or move money, or to provide personal information such as your PIN number. These types of scams tend to move to other areas quickly so please remain vigilant and share this message with elderly relatives, friends and neighbours. Local successes in Scramble Championship

Local rider Ollie Bubb (just turned 10 and pictured here receiving the trophy) won 5 out of 5 races in the 65cc group of 40 riders at the recent Andy Bubb Memorial Scramble Event in Maisemore to take the overall win.

Zachary Bubb (7) also did well and, despite a few crashes, finished 8th overall in the 50cc automatic group. 

The championship was first held in Maisemore back in the 70's.

This year there were around 120 young riders participating in this well-organised event, with youngsters from the age of 6 showing off their skills on two wheels.

Gloucestershire Opcc Annual Report 2018-2019

Intensive Poultry Unit details

An application has been submitted to Tewkesbury Borough Council for various matters on which conditions were applied on the planning consent for the planned Intensive Poultry Unit to the north of Maisemore.  These include a surface water management plan and details of lighting.

Improved access to documents

From time to time there are posts on this site with links to Parish Council and other documents, but these links have not been easy to find once the post is no longer current.

The Parish Council has a commitment to make what it does as transparent as possible, so improved access to relevant documents helps meet that commitment.
