Delays on Over roundabout works

Gloucestershire County Council is desperate to catch up on the Over roundabout works programme that has been delayed following the piling difficulties of late.  The problem appears to have been that the ground where the piling is going in was much harder than the surveys had indicated, so that alternative methods - and additional machinery - has been required.

 

In order to catch up, the Contractor requires a further week of night works  this week (25^th-29^th June) on the A40 westbound (Longford to Over). They are confident that next week's work should be sufficient to complete the piling and remove the night time closures.

 

Major Schemes Team Leader says, "I fully appreciate that this these overnight works and associated road closures have impacted many of your parishioners and I sincerely hope that my next update to you will be notifying you that we have completed piling."
